De Tsahal, armée affichée « gay-friendly », au cinéma – porno ou branché – empreint d’orientalisme, en passant par la frénésie nataliste chez les gays via la gestation pour autrui, l’auteur raconte l’envers du décor d’un rouleau compresseur. Ce « mirage rose » est décrié par les homosexuels palestiniens et les militants radicaux LGBT israéliens, juifs comme arabes. Journaliste, cofondateur de Gai Pied en 1979, Jean Stern a travaillé notamment à Libération. Il a publié Les Patrons de la presse nationale, tous mauvais (La Fabrique, 2012). Il est aujourd’hui l’un des animateurs de la collection « Orient XXI » chez Libertalia.

De quoi mieux déchiffrer notre monde actuel et saisir le sien en fendant (un peu) l’armure d’une humanité pudique et exceptionnelle qui nous a « lu » l’époque… formidablement. Denis Lafay, journaliste, a fondé et dirigé Acteurs de l’économie – La Tribune. Il a déjà dirigé et publié plusieurs ouvrages aux éditions de l'Aube, où il est directeur de collection. Boris Cyrulnik est un célèbre neuropsychiatre français, traditionnellement édité chez Odile Jacob, mais qui a confié deux de ses ouvrages à l’Aube : Dialogue sur la nature humaine et La petite sirène de Copenhague.

Saviez-vous que le nombre de décès en 2023 dû aux conflits armés à diminué de 140 000 par rapport à 2022 ? Ou que les émissions de CO2 de l’UE provenant des combustibles fossiles ont baissé de 8 % en 2023 pour atteindre leurs niveaux les plus bas depuis 60 ans ? Peut-être voire sûrement pas. Non pas à cause d'un manque de connaissance mais plutôt d'une perception de la réalité plus sombre qu'elle ne l'est en vérité. C'est à cet écart entre la réalité et notre vision du monde plus négative que l'auteur s'intéresse. En s'appuyant sur de plusieurs travaux de penseurs, il présente les raisons pour lesquelles notre cerveau a cette tendance à envisager le pire, nous permettant ainsi (peut-être) de voir le verre enfin à moitié plein. Foi et science sont indissociables. Aux débuts de leur histoire, c’est dans le surnaturel que les hommes ont trouvé des réponses aux questions qui les dépassaient. Petit à petit, la « science » a pris le relais. Cette évolution fut à peu près sereine jusqu’à Copernic et Galilée. Dès lors, leur rapport est devenu conflictuel. Au XVIIIe siècle, la réflexion religieuse a été progressivement évacuée du champ scientifique, jusqu’au début du XXe siècle, lorsque la science s’est de nouveau trouvée confrontée à des questions qui la dépassaient. L’intention de cet ouvrage est de faire un tour d’horizon le plus simple possible du rapport « Dieu et la science », en pointant quelques secteurs de recherche qui sont aujourd’hui face à des interrogations métaphysiques (cosmologie, physique quantique, neurosciences). Il s’agit de mettre en évidence les risques de confusion, mais également la nécessité d’un travail interdisciplinaire sur les questions communes, et donc de fonder la possibilité d’un dialogue entre science, philosophie et religion sur des bases saines.

D’inspiration postmoderne, plusieurs courants d’études africaines postcoloniales se sont inscrits dans l’entreprise de déconstruction des cadres analytiques issus de « l’ordre épistémologique occidental ». Le regard critique sur la production des discours sur les conflits en Afrique, constituant l’axe central de cet ouvrage, prend ancrage dans ce tournant paradigmatique opéré dans la pensée africaniste pour redonner sens aux savoirs sur les phénomènes sociaux en contextes africains. L’objectif de notre ouvrage est de questionner les discours sur les conflits en Afrique formulés sous le prisme de l’approche réductrice des paradigmes de l’ethnicité. L’enjeu est de procéder à une exploration, dans l’optique de Balandier, des territoires de la conflictualité, afin de contribuer par « le détour » à la découverte de nouvelles lignes de sens d’un phénomène aussi complexe et récurrent. Aux antipodes des généralisations induites par les paradigmes de l’ethnicité apparaît alors un objet sociologique très circonscrit : des dynamiques conflictuelles diverses aux sources et contextes variés.
